The Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, affirmed that the executive and legislative branches of government enjoy a cordial relationship, a development attributed to a shared commitment to good governance.
In a statement released by his media office on Friday, Lado, a former senator who represented Kano Central Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two arms of government.
Mr. Lado highlighted his office’s dedication to facilitating swift legislative approval of the presidency’s requests, particularly regarding the confirmation of nominees for various positions. “As part of efforts to promote and facilitate productive engagement between the Executive and the Legislative arms of government, the Office of the Special Adviser is dedicated to ensuring healthy collaboration between both arms in advancing transparency, accountability, and effective governance,” Lado stated.
He further elaborated on President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the country’s economic development, noting that the appointment of nominees to various financial institutions is crucial.
Lado praised Tinubu for his financial reforms and the strategic selection of qualified individuals for key financial roles.
“President Tinubu’s vision of appointing capable and highly qualified individuals to key positions in critical financial institutions remains central to his administration’s broader agenda of enhancing fiscal discipline,” he asserted.
