Former Super Eagles defender, Bright Omokaro, has advised new head coach of the team, Finidi George to build a formidable team that can compete well on the field.
Omokaro, a member of Super Eagles silver medal winning squad at the 1988 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco also posited that it is important for Finidi to shun undue influence in players selection.
“I urge him (Finidi ) to know what he is doing. He should stick to the job, and be determined to bring the best result for the country,” he told NAN.
“The expectations are high at this point in time, especially when the Eagles are preparing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup; all eyes will be on him now.
“All Nigerians are awaiting him to build a formidable team, to bring good results, and shun undue influence in selecting players.”
Finidi’s first official game in charge of the Super Eagles will be the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in June.
