The Delta State Police Command has invited a human rights activist, Israel Joe over a planned protest against the economic hardship in the country.
The Police invitation was signed by CSP Ya’U Musa Kangiwa 2i/C State Intelligence Department, SCID.
No reasons were given for the invitation which is slated for Thursday.
In response to the invitation, the Rights Activist, Joe, raised the alarm that the Police were planning to arrest him because of the planned protest.
“I don’t know if the hardship doesn’t affect the same people planning to arrest the organisers of this planned protest.”
Joe also said the protest must hold even if the police detain him as he will honour the invitation.
It would be recalled that Israel Joe on Wednesday, informed the public that a protest against the economic hardship in the country will hold and it will begin from the DSC roundabout in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.
