The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has urged its members nationwide to refrain from engaging in any form of violence; instead, they should foster peace and unity within the country.

Khalil Muhammad Bello, National President of KACRAN, made the plea in a statement available to newsmen in Damaturu on Monday.

According to him, โ€œKACRAN, as an organisation, is committed to harmony and progress. It strongly condemns any acts of vandalism and lawlessness. Such behaviour poses a threat to the nationโ€™s fragile security and contradicts our values as a civilised society.โ€

He acknowledged that Nigeria is facing challenging times, particularly insecurity, which is affecting different regions. He said, โ€œIt is during such critical times that the solidarity of all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic or religious backgrounds, is paramount. We must unite to prevent any actions that could further destabilize our nation.โ€

The Association, through the National President, urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to increase funding for the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to enable the intervention agency to discharge its mandate efficiently.

โ€œWe also acknowledge the exceptional leadership of His Excellency, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum. Governor Zulumโ€™s initiative of establishing a committee to foster peace between cattle rearers and farmers in the state is laudable.

โ€œThe committeeโ€™s mandate to address the root causes of conflicts and to promote longstanding harmony in Borno State is a testament to his exemplary governance,โ€ he said.

KACRAN, therefore, called on other state governors to emulate Governor Zulumโ€™s proactive approach, stating that his transformative projects in Borno State serve as a model for leadership not only in Nigeria but globally.

โ€œKACRAN reaffirms its unwavering commitment to assisting the federal, state, and local governments in seeking lasting solutions to Nigeriaโ€™s security challenges.

โ€œWe call upon our members to extend their full support and cooperation to achieve our collective goals of peace, unity, and development,โ€ he appealed.
