The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, and Governor Nasir Idris, on Saturday, inaugurated the GB Foods tomato farming and processing factory in Gafara village, Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Speaking at the event, Idris assured of his administration’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for private enterprises and investors.
He expressed gratitude to the Spanish Government for selecting Kebbi State as a destination for investment in the agricultural sector, pointing out the importance of such ventures in driving economic growth and development.
The governor also extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for dispatching a high-level delegation the operations of the tomato processing plant.
Kyari on his part echoed Tinubu’s dedication to facilitating a conducive environment for private investment in agriculture, aligning with the government’s eight-point agenda.
He commended GB Foods for its substantial investment in Nigeria and praised its plans for expanding the processing facility, stating the important role of private enterprise in national agricultural development.
The minister expressed gratitude to the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Juan Sell, for personally visiting the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to invite the President to the commissioning ceremony.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, lauded Tinubu’s initiatives in agricultural development and echoed the administration’s commitment to achieving food security through strategic partnerships with investors.
Senator Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, in his speech, applauded the President for prioritizing agricultural production and food security.
