Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Monday presented a N207.8 billion 2024 Appropriation Bill to the House of Assembly.
Out of the total budget sum, N87.25 billion or 42 per cent, was earmarked for recurring expenditure, while N120.5 billion or 58 per cent, is for capital expenditure.
Yahayaโs first budget proposal in his second term was called โBudget of Continuity and Consolidationโ, to build on his first termโs achievements.
โGovernment envisages the collection of N121.9 billion as recurrent revenues and N138.9 billion as capital receipts,โโ he said.
He stated that the budget performance for 2023 was 57.4 per cent as of the end of September.
Yahaya urged the House of Assembly to study the budget and make constructive input in order to improve the welfare of inhabitants.
Following the presentation, the Speaker of the House of Assembly Mr Abubakar Luggerewo (APC-Akko Central) informed the governor that the budget would be considered expeditiously.
