Nigerian fast-rising striker, Gift Orban, has reportedly agreed to join Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur this summer but his current club, Gent, are still dragging the deal.
Gift Orban does not have a problem with the offer from Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League side are confident that they would seal the deal before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
However, both Tottenham and the Belgian side are yet to reach an agreement over a suitable transfer fee for the 21-year-old Nigerian forward.
Since the departure of Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspurโs all-time highest goalscorer, the north London side have been in a serious search for a striker to replace the 30-year-old England international.
Gift Orban who scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 22 games for Gent last season, is seen as a perfect replacement for the striker.
So far this season, the youngster has continued with the goalscoring culture as he has scored 6 goals in 6 games already.
Hence, even though Gent bought him for less than โฌ5 million over a season ago, they want nothing less than โฌ30 million from his suitors this summer.
In an interview with Ranks FC Ultras Podcast on Monday, a British pundit, Dean Jones said, โI expected progress to be made yesterday (Sunday) on that for Tottenham, but Iโm not sure it was. That doesnโt look brilliant, but they were first on the scene and they are the most interested.
โHe is convinced of the personal package they have put in front of him, so that is going to be fine, itโs just about agreeing a deal with Gent, so letโs see what happens there.โ
