Manchester City secured the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of 70 million euros.
Omar Marmoush, 25, has committed to a contract that runs until June 2029, with additional performance-related add-ons that could increase the total to £4 million.
With an impressive record of 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season, Marmoush is second in the league scoring charts, closely following England captain Harry Kane, who has netted 16 goals for Bayern Munich.
Marmoush expressed his enthusiasm about joining City, stating, “Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world over the past 10 years, so there was no hesitation in my decision. It is both a pleasure and an honor for my family and me to represent Manchester City. It brings joy to us, and I am thrilled that my dreams are coming true. The past two seasons have been wonderful, but I feel like this is just the beginning for me.”
In addition to Marmoush, Manchester City have strengthened their squad further by signing 19-year-old Brazilian defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for £30 million and Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens for £34 million during the January transfer window.
Omar Marmoush, who is adept at playing as a striker, a number 10, or a winger, described his playing style: “I’m fast, have good ball control, and I always look to exploit spaces on the pitch, making me a dangerous player. My main strength is my unwavering desire to win, which is a vital aspect of my character.”
City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, praised Marmoush for his “outstanding pace and awareness,” noting that his versatility on the field is an invaluable addition to the team.
