Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has expressed his optimism regarding the clubโs prospects in the Premier League this season.
Frank Lampard acknowledged that Chelsea are currently well-placed to compete for a top-four finish in the league. He also praised coach Enzo Marescaโs initial impact at Stamford Bridge after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino at the start of the new season.
Pochettinoโs departure, despite overseeing an improvement from 12th to sixth place in the previous campaign, paved the way for Maresca to take charge. Under Marescaโs stewardship, Chelsea have shown promising signs, currently occupying the fourth position in the league table.
Lampard, who has managed Chelsea on two occasions, emphasized the challenges the club has faced, including ownership changes, managerial transitions, and squad restructuring. He attributed Chelseaโs recent struggles to these factors but expressed confidence in the current squadโs ability to compete at the highest level once again.
In an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, Frank Lampard stated, โAfter a period of transition and upheaval, including changes in ownership, management, and player personnel, itโs understandable that Chelsea faced difficulties. However, I believe they are now in a strong position to once again challenge for a top-four finish and meet the clubโs expectations.โ
