Former Chelsea midfielder, Florent Malouda wants the Premier League club to make a renewed effort to sign Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens in January.
During the summer transfer window, Chelsea attempted to secure Victor Osimhenโs services, but negotiations fell short as the EPL side were unable to meet the financial demands of the player and the Italian side.
Consequently, the 25-year-old Nigeria international found a home with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray, where he joined on a loan deal from Italian club Napoli.
Nonetheless, Malouda remains optimistic about the prospect of Osimhen joining Chelsea during the January transfer window, emphasizing that the striker possesses the necessary skill set to elevate the teamโs performance and bolster their attacking options.
In an interview with Coin Poker, Florent Malouda said, โWe nearly finalized the deal for Victor Osimhen in the last transfer window, and he is precisely the kind of player who could bring an added layer of quality to this Chelsea squad. If thereโs an opportunity to bring him on board in January, I believe the club should seriously consider it.
โFrom various reports Iโve seen, it appears that the transfer fee may be more manageable than initially projected last summer, with estimates around ยฃ70 million.โ
