A fire incident, which occurred on Tuesday in the Felele area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, resulted in the destruction of two churches.

The Oyo State Fire Service confirmed the incident, adding that the quick intervention of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
โThe fire, which occurred at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele, Ibadan, affected a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and New Covenant Church, as well as a furniture shop,โ the fire service statement reads.
The General Manager of the Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, added that the fire mostly affected plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely burnt.
Meanwhile, two siblings, Zubairu and Sadiq Ibrahim, have tragically lost their lives in a mass collapse at an artisanal mining site in Kakaki village, located within the Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Leadership quoted sources to have disclosed that the deceased brothers had ventured to a gold mining site in the village, known for its significant gold reserves, to fulfil a debt repayment.
It has been reported that Zubairu, aged 25, and Sadiq, 20, had been engaged in artisanal gold mining activities near the bank of a tributary within the village for an extended period until the devastating event occurred.
OsunDailyNG reports that this is coming barely two weeks after the bodies of four more miners who were trapped in the mining site at the Galadima-Kogo community of the Shiroro Local Government Area in Niger State were retrieved.
