The late father-in-law to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, Mallam Imam Galadanci has been buried in Kano on Wednesday.
The remains of the late Galadanci have been brought from London on Tuesday following his demise in London after a protracted sickness.
OsunDailyNG reports both the Sultan and the Emir of Bichi are married to the daughters of the deceased.
The funeral prayer for their late father-in-law was led by the Chief Imam of Abuja National Mosque, Professor Shehu Ahmad at the Kano Emir’s Palace.
Talking shortly after the prayer, Dr Gwani Farouk described the late Imam as an excellent man who lived an achieved life and described his death as painful.
“It’s very painful to me because he’s the one that employed me to teach Hausa in the college. Most of the individuals you see right here had been his college students.
“He was a really trustworthy individual, patient, very enterprising and had a great relationship with almost every lecturer. He was our mentor and a great loss to not solely Kano but Nigeria at large.”
Equally, a former Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmad Idris stated “It is a great loss not only to us from Kano but to the whole nation. We’ve lost a father, a scholar and a role model to all of us because he lived a vital life worthy of emulation by all that all of us cherished to live.
“We actually need to mourn this great loss. We’ll miss him due to the wisdom and humility that he emits and all of us learnt from that.”
A number of the dignitaries who attended the funeral rites were the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, amongst others.
