Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has denied a report that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola, has informed President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prepare for a rerun election.
Fan-Kayode was reacting to a post made by renowned Strategic Communication expert Jackson Ude, in which he claimed the CJN had told the president and his party to prepare for a rerun election.
The post also alleged that the CJN’s private phone conversations with Tinubu, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, and two other Justices of the Supreme Court had been leaked to U.S authorities, resulting in two additional justices being banned from entering the United States.
Reacting to the development via a Twitter post on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode conveyed his respect for Jackson Ude but vehemently denied the authenticity of the report.
The former Minister said there was not an iota of truth in the allegations, dismissing them as pure, unadulterated, undiluted, and pre-meditated fake news.
According to Fani Kayode, the motive behind disseminating such fabricated information was to incite dissatisfaction, chaos, fear, and panic among Nigerians.
He wrote: “I have respect for Jackson Ude, but I have to say that there is NOT ONE iota of truth in this report. It is nothing but pure, unadulterated, undiluted and pre-meditated FAKE NEWS, and it is designed to create disaffection, chaos, fear and panic.”
