Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard has expressed sympathy for Nicolas Jackson after the 22-year-old striker missed several goal chances against Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Man City defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley on Saturday.
Jackson failed to score a goal for Mauricio Pochettinoโs side against City as Bernardo Silva scored the only goal of the encounter to send Pep Guardiolaโs side to the FA Cup final.
However, Lampard believes the Senegal international did not perform at the level Chelsea need for their leading striker.
โI feel for him a little bit because he made lots of good movement, he is a young striker, the attributes we saw in him today where he is racing Kyle Walker, he is shown pace, heโs shown good movement but thereโs a technical detail there.
โThe extra touch, the decision making at the highest level in these highest level of games are the difference,โ Lampard said as quoted by Metro UK.
โThe header, you hit anywhere but his body itโs a goal. Little decision making, I feel for him, weโve all been there, weโve all missed chances and itโs a critical one for the game.
โBut as a young player thatโs the level that you have to be a striker for Chelsea.โ
