Former Inter Miami striker Ariel Lassiter has reacted to claims that he was sold by the club because he did not want to hand over the No. 10 shirt to Lionel Messi.
Lassiter was involved in a swap deal in April that saw him move to CF Montreal, with Kamal Miller joining Inter Miami.
Many on Twitter believed that the striker was removed from the club to make the shirt available for the legendary forward.
But those rumours were quickly put to bed when fans realised that Lassiter actually wore the No. 11 jersey at the club.
He went on to clear up the matter, tweeting: โGuys, I was #11, but Iโll sacrifice so others can enjoy the greatness.โ
Messiโs contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this month, and the Argentine icon will move to Inter Miami in the US Major League Soccer.
