Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has hailed Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling after he put in a man-of-the-match performance against Burnley in Saturday’s Premier League tie.
Chelsea won their third game in a row across all competitions thanks to Sterling’s impressive display.
Goals from Sterling, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson gave Mauricio Pochettino’s side the victory over the host at Turf Moor.
However, Merson has now heaped praises on Sterling, describing him as the ‘X-factor’ during the encounter.
Merson (via The Chelsea Chronicle): “I thought Sterling was outstanding. From box to box this season, Chelsea have been alright, it’s just putting the ball in the net.
“I have said over recent weeks that soon they are going to put four or five past someone.
“Today, it came off. It was all down to Sterling. He was absolutely outstanding.
“It beats me (he’s not in the England squad). He has his ups and down games. But when he has his good games, he’s the X factor.”
