Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Dr Bimpe Aderiye, has expressed satisfaction at the level of improvement recorded by students in learning different digital programmes put in place by the Adolescent Girls Innovation for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) in the state.

The commissioner, who was on a visit to Ekiti State Government College, Ado-Ekiti, to inspect the progress of the Digital Literacy Programme which was launched last year, applauded the students for being able to show progress in various digital applications including coding, editing, photoshop, use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), web design, and Canva, among others.

While monitoring the use of equipment at the Schoolโ€™s ICT room, Aderiye encouraged the students to properly utilize the knowledge they had acquired in digital literacy.

She equally urged them not to relent in the practical aspect of the programme.

The commissioner charged the principal of the school, Mr Olanipekun Eweje, to always come up with initiatives that would improve the proficiency of the students in the programme, adding that they can compete favourably with their colleagues across the globe.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of Teaching Service Commission, Mr Michael Omolayo, expressed satisfaction with the the attitude of the tutors and the students undergoing the training .

AGILEโ€™s State Project Coordinator, Mrs Yewande Adesua, explained that the Digital Literacy Programme was designed to improve learning outcomes and make students in the state to be globally competitive .

The Principal of the school, Eweje, lauded the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration and AGILE for the opportunity given to the younger generation to be tutored on digital literacy.

In their reactions, some of the students who spoke with newsmen expressed gratitude to the governor and AGILE for making them better than they used to be by introducing their school to digital literacy.

They also promised that they would justify the investment in them.
