Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago joined thousands of Muslims to converge on the Central Eid Prayer ground in Kontagora, headquarters of Kontagora Local Government Area to perform the open-air Congregational prayer to mark the end of the Ramadan fast and Eid-El- Fitr festivity.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after observing the two rakaat prayers led by the Chief Imam of Kontagora, Mallam IIliyasu Abdulmalik, the Governor urged all Muslim faithful to continue to imbibe the lessons learnt in the Month of Ramadan.
Bago also noted the need for them to remain selfless, showing kindness and maintaining good neighbourliness as well as sustaining their prayers to Allah for peace and success of the current administration at the State and Federal levels.
He then thanked the Kontagora Emirate for the warm reception given to him.
Also, the Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District and former Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello in his message thanked Allah for witnessing another Eid-El-Fitr while praying for an end to all forms of insecurity.
Likewise, the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II appreciated Governor Bago for marking the Eid-el-Fitr with the people of Kontagora and prayed for the success of his administration.
Other notable personalities who attended the Eid-El-Fitr prayer include Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly AbdulMalik Sarkin Daji, Member representing Kontagora/Mariga/Mashegu and Wushiahi Federal Constituency Abdullahi Idris Garba, Chief of Staff to the Governor Abdullahi Usman Gbatamangi, as well as other members of the State Executive Council and traditional leaders in Kontagora Emirate
