As Muslims across the world celebrate this yearโ€™s Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin and the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Red Chamber, Senator Solomon Adeola, have urged every Nigerian to live in peace, unity and harmony.

The lawmakers, in separate statements to rejoice with the Muslims on the successful completion of the 30-day Ramadan fast and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, particularly advised them to sustain the lessons of the holy month and always reflect them in their daily activities.

Senator Barau, representing APC Kano North, who is the acting Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, prayed Allah to accept supplications, prayers and the good deeds of the Ummah during the blessed month.

Preaching unity among all in the country, he urged Nigerians, irrespective of all differences, to pray for the growth and development of the country, stressing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has good intentions for the country.

He said the Legislature under the able leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio, will continue to support President Tinubu with necessary legislation for the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and transformation of the country.

While wishing Muslims a joyous and peaceful celebration, Senator Barau appealed to them to spread love and help the poor and needy during and after the festive period.

โ€œFollowing the declaration of Wednesday, April 10 as the first day of Shawwal 1445AH, marking the end of the Ramadan Fast, I wish to rejoice with the entire Muslims across the country. This is a period of joy and happiness, as well as a time to show appreciation to Almighty Allah.

โ€œI want to use this opportunity to urge the citizens to remain united and commit themselves to intense prayers for the development of our country. We should all support and pray for the president, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in turning the fortunes of our beloved country positively,โ€ Senator Barau stated.

In his own, Senator Adeola (APC Ogun West), urged Muslims to continue in all the pious and righteous ways associated with Ramadan, adding that tolerance and peaceful co-existence should be a way of life for all of us as the government attempts to find solutions to myriads of societal problems.

The lawmaker, in the statement signed by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, expressed hope that the spiritual lessons of Ramadan and the injunctions of Holy Prophets on self-denial, love, peaceful co-existence, fairness and justice will continue in their daily lives and relations with people.

โ€œLet us continue to renew our hope for a secure nation and a prosperous future for the citizenry under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am sure our prayers during the past month while fasting will be answered in due course,โ€ he stated.

The lawmaker called on Muslims and other Nigerians to continue to pray against insecurity bedevilling the nation and the wisdom for leaders to find lasting solutions to these killings, stressing that the religion of Islam is a religion of peace, kindness, and love of Allah and fellow human beings.
