Arsenal’s striker Eddie Nketiah has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent transfer on deadline day for a fee of around £30 million.
Eddie Nketiah, who is 25 years old and from South London, has signed a five-year deal with the Eagles, marking his return to his place of birth.
The move makes him Crystal Palace’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the recent acquisition of French defender Maxence Lacroix for £18 million on deadline day.
Expressing his excitement after completing the move, Eddie Nketiah said, “It’s amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I’m excited to get going. Every time I come back to South London, it always puts a smile on my face, so it’s good to be back home.”
Nketiah joined Arsenal at the age of 14 from Chelsea’s youth set-up and went on to score 38 goals in 168 games for the Gunners.
Meanwhile, Fulham have completed a season-long loan deal with Arsenal for Reiss Nelson on transfer deadline day.
Before joining Fulham, Reiss Nelson was in discussions with Ipswich Town, but Fulham successfully hijacked the process on deadline day.
Nelson is a product of Arsenal’s youth system and has accumulated 90 first-team appearances at the Gunners. During his time with Arsenal, the 24-year-old winger and former England Under-21 international also had loan spells at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim.
Despite making 90 appearances for Arsenal, Nelson has only played two minutes in the Premier League this season, with a total of 24 appearances during the 2023-2024 season. Out of these appearances, only two were starts in the league or Champions League.
