The Department of State Services, DSS, on Saturday barred journalists from covering the Sokoto State Governorship Election Petition Tribunalโ€™s Judgement.

The operatives, who said they were working with directives from above, only allowed NAN, NTA and state-owned media outletsโ€™ journalists into the court room at the High Court, where the ruling is ongoing.

DAILY POST reports that Governor Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared the winner of the March 18 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Saโ€™idu Umar, had petitioned the tribunal challenging the declaration of Aliyu over alleged non-qualification and electoral fraud.

The three member panel of judges is led by Justice Haruna Mshelia.
