The Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has appealed to the Security Agencies to dig out the roots of those behind serious problems of insecurity in Nigeria, to mitigate its impact and bring total peace to citizens.

He said proactive strategies are required to tackle the huge challenges of insecurities, noting that sitting to discuss the issues will only allow idea sharing while information gathering goes with real actions from the stakeholders.

The Governor said this during the Directorate of State Security Services, DSS, Northwestern High-Security zonal conference in Kano.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, said, โ€œI challenge you to use intelligence data gathering to locate the whereabouts of those perpetrating the crimes, are they Politicians, Traditional Leaders, Religious or Business Community, do more to unravel those sponsoring and conducting attacks on innocent lives for the Country to be peacefulโ€.

The convener of the program, and who is the State DSS Director in Kano, Alhassan Muhammad, said the 14h Quarterly Conference of the State Directors of Security (SDSes), Northwest Geopolitical Zone, was an initiative of the Director General State Services, DGSS, Yusuf Magaji BICHI.

He said the conference is intended to, among other things, facilitate operational and intelligence-sharing synergy among State SSS Directors across the geo-political zones in the Country.

โ€œIt therefore serves as a platform for them to come together to exchange knowledge, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to address the myriad of security challenges prevalent in the zone.

Alhassan Muhammad noted that in todayโ€™s rapidly evolving world, security concerns have become increasingly complex and multifaceted, from cybersecurity threats to physical security challenges, from terrorism to armed banditry, from farmers/herdersโ€™ clashes to youth restiveness, environmental tensions, intra/inter political party disputes.

โ€œThe security landscape is constantly evolving, presenting new and unprecedented challenges to security agencies, the executive, legislators, judiciary and societies across the country. Thus, this conference has curated a comprehensive program that features thought-provoking keynote presentations, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among SDSes from various States.โ€
