Manchester United forward, Bruno Fernandes has given further clarification while being quizzed on the reported cold greeting with his teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite a video from Portugalโs pre-World Cup training camp seeming to show him welcoming the contentious striker coldly, Bruno Fernandes has denied being furious with Cristiano Ronaldo.
In an interview with presenter Piers Morgan, Ronaldo attacked Manchester United and numerous club officials, saying they had โbetrayedโ him.
According to reports, the rest of the United locker room was quite miffed by the interview and seemed to have given up on the stubborn striker.
Many saw Fernandesโ on-camera response to Ronaldo upon reporting for duty with Portugal as proof of that claim.
However, Unitedโs number eight had said he has not seen Ronaldoโs controversial video which doesnโt have anything to do with his greetings.
โI didnโt read the interview,โ Fernandes said.
When asked about the video that his own Football Team had made public that looked to show him becoming irritated with Ronaldo, Fernandes replied:
โWhy do you say that?โ
Then he continued with a vague explanation of his response.
โThey put the sound after,โ he said.
โDid you hear with the sound? You have to do it [because] you know whatโs happened. In Portugal we have a problem because I was watching one of the channels that was talking about that.
โI was watching for 45 minutes and as soon as they go on a break, national team send [the footage] with the sound. The sound says that he was joking with me.
โThey come back and they cut that and they say โif you want to see again, just go backโ.
โBut if they go back they will see that there is a problem, but if they tell the real truth, if they explain what was in that video, people will know.
โBut now people donโt know. As I said, this is national team, Manchester United will be my focus after the World Cup, after December 18, because that is the final,โ he explained.
