Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has guaranteed that the Command would keep up efforts to combat crime and criminality and enhance public safety and security across the state during the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Olufemi gave the assurance while charging all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers in the Command to set up their Areas of Responsibility, AoR, security architecture for proactive, effective policing of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration to ensure adequate security for the State throughout the festivities and beyond.
He extended his warmest felicitation to all the Muslim Ummah, resident in the state, noting that Eid-el-Fitr is the epitome of collective happiness, and the month of Ramadan brings blessings, hence the faithful should learn to shun all differences and promote harmony.
He urged members of the public to continue to assist and collaborate with the police and other security agencies to enable them to serve the good people of the state better.
He enjoined them to be security conscious, law abiding and take appropriate measures towards personal protection, not only at home but also in public places such as markets, worship centres, shopping malls and highways.
