Delta State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of all the 26 commissioner nominees sent to it by the state government.
Four of the nominees are noted to have served in the administration of the immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, OsunDailyNG reports.
They are Charles Aniagwu (Information), Chief Tilije Fidelis Okenmor (Finance), Rose Ezenwu (Secondary Education), and Kingsley Ashibuogwu (Higher Education).
The incumbent State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is said to have on July 19 sent the 26 names of nominees to the house for screening and confirmation.
The house at the plenary on Wednesday, August 2, confirmed the last batch of eight nominees.
Speaking after their screening and subsequent confirmation, the speaker of the house, Emomotimi Guwor, commended members of the house for their show of responsibility.
Meanwhile, a former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has sent a message to those waiting for ministerial appointments following the emergence of a new ministerial nominee list.
OsunDailyNG recalls that after the initial 28 names nominated for ministerial positions, President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, sent 19 new names to the Senate for screening.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, read the names out on the floor of the Senate after the screening of the first batch of names sent by the President last week.
The second batch of the list included five former governors and some other popular politicians.
The new list which contains 19 names now brings the number of nominees to 47 after the initial 28 names.
Speaking via Twitter, Sani urged those still awaiting ministerial appointments to shelve their hopes and return to their everyday day life.
He wrote, โOh ye thee waiting by the Rock for ministerial appointment,
โThee can now returneth to thy trenches or be the minister of thy Lord.โ
