Stakeholders in Nasarawa State have cautioned Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, the Adon Garin Lafia, over his recent comments concerning the verdict of the tribunal, which nullified the election of Governor Sule and declared David Ombugadu the lawful winner of the March 18 polls.

Recall that Justice Ezekielโ€™s three man tribunal declared Ombugadu winner in a split decision on Monday.

Governor Sule and the All Progressives Congress rejected the verdict of the tribunal, insisting that the judges erred in their verdict and that the APC plans to appeal.

The stakeholders, comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders, and politicians, conveyed their advice during a meeting in Lafia told Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, the Chairman of the Youth Awareness Forum and holder of the traditional title, Adon Garin Lafia, to exercise restraint when discussing the political landscape of the state.

Expressing their concerns, the stakeholders said his remarks had been misconstrued in the past, leading to unnecessary political tension and unrest within the state.

They Specifically, pointed to comments made by Prince Ibrahim in response to the judgment of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal (GEPT), emphasizing the importance of peace and unity in the state and also dismissed threats from a certain group targeting their presence in the state.

Following a closed-door meeting, the party men collectively advised the Prince to refrain from making further comments relating to stateโ€™s politics, insisting that their intention is to prioritize the interest of the state and foster an environment of peace and development.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Sani Ali, a prominent stakeholder, stressed the equal rights of individuals to comment on state politics as enshrined in the nationโ€™s constitution.

Sani, however, maintained that the advice is not to infringe on anyoneโ€™s right but a call to prioritize the greater good of Nasarawa State.

In response, Prince Ibrahim who through a phone call confirmed that he had been notified of the decision of the stakeholders, pledged to heed their call, emphasizing that all his actions were driven by good intentions and the wellbeing of the state.

โ€œAll that Iโ€™m doing is with good intentions and in the interest of the state. Nasarawa State belongs to all of us and no one is less or more indigene than anyone.

โ€œIโ€™m here in Medinah to pray not only for myself and my family but also for the good people of Lafia, Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large for peace, unity and development to reign,โ€ he added.
