The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs And Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, is currently in Ogun State to sign off on the social register to be used for the federal governmentโ€™s conditional cash transfer and to distribute relief materials to victims of Isheri flooding.

Edu arrived Ogun State on Friday evening where he met with Governor Dapo Abiodun at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

While addressing newsmen, the minister said she would visit victims of Isheri flood disaster to assuage the pains they may be going through now, saying โ€œPresident Bola Tinubu is concerned the flooding situationโ€ in Isheri.

Edu disclosed that she is in Ogun to provide humanitarian support and response to those affected by the flood, to see things for herself, take stock of victims and give them relief materials.

She added that she will sign off on the Ogun State social register on Saturday so that beneficiaries from the state can start receiving the N25,000 conditional cash transfer.

According to her, the mainistry would also, among other things, support traders in the Adire business as a way of lifting as many people out of poverty.
