Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has returned to full training early enough for the Istanbul Derby between his club, Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray.
While Galatasaray will be busy with their rescheduled Turkish Super Lig game against Gaziantep at 6 p.m. later tonight, September 17, Fenerbahce will have more time to rest ahead of the big weekend.
To make it even better for coach Jose Mourinhoโs side, the clubโs right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has successfully returned to training after a short hiatus due to an injury.
The injury was sustained during Fenerbahceโs 2-2 draw at Gotzepe last month, which caused him to miss the clubโs last three league games and Nigeriaโs 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The 26-year-old was seen back in training on Tuesday, and it is anticipated that he will make his comeback in Fenerbahceโs highly anticipated Istanbul derby clash with Galatasaray at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 21.
This sets up an exciting face-off as Osayi-Samuel will potentially go up against his countryman Victor Osimhen, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the upcoming match.
Recall that Osimhen completed his loan move to the Turkish side earlier this month, and in his debut game, he provided an assist to announce his unexpected arrival in the league.
