The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Wednesday, in Abuja bowed to the order of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in the matter of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele who has been in the custody of the Federal Government security agencies for over 150 days was brought to Court in compliance with the order of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi.

The former CBN Governor who dressed in yellow Babariga with a Hausa cap to match entered the courtroom around 12;30 with a retinue of EFCC operatives providing security around him.

His friends and relatives had besieged the court premises waiting for the arrival of the Judge for a hearing in his fundamental human rights suit.

Justice Adeniyi had on Monday reaffirmed his order that the detained former CBN governor be brought to Court today November 8 for the purpose of admitting him to bail.

He had in the alternative directed the anti-graft agency to on its own grant bail to Emefiele or allow the court to do so in line with provisions of the law on fundamental human rights.

Details later.
