About 14 travelers who were recently abducted by gunmen at Inele Eteke, in Olalamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State have been freed.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye, made this known in a chat with OsunDailyNG on Thursday evening.

โ€œJust been informed by the DPO that, all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors, GIG and ABC have regained their freedomโ€, he said.

Recall that the armed bandits had on Saturday, February 3, 2024, hijacked two buses belonging to GIG and ABC transport companies and whisked away about 14 passengers to an unknown destination.

According to reports, God is Good Motors was with 12 passengers while ABC was with two passengers.

Abductors of the 14 passengers of Abuja-bound buses had contacted families of the victims, demanding N15M as ransom.

It is currently unclear if the ransom was paid prior to the release of the abductees.
