Eleven residents among the 30 villagers abducted from Ungwar Liman, Gwada community of Igabi Local Government Area area of Kaduna State, have been released.
Those released from the abductors are seven women, two teenage boys and two infants.
The bandits had last week freed two nursing mothers and an infant on health grounds, making it a total of 16 persons released, leaving 14 other villagers still in the hands of the bandits.
The 11 persons, according to a source, were released after their relatives gathered the ransom demanded by the bandits for all the victims.
The bandits released only 11 people and demanded additional millions, along with motorcycles, for the release of the remaining captives after collecting the money.
The source explained, โIt was not the agreement we had with them (bandits).
โWe paid about N6.5 million ransom for all the victims in their custody, but after collecting the money, they released only 11 persons and demanded additional ransom, including motorcycles.โ
