Aryna Sabalenka has won the 2024 Australian Open title after beating Qinwen Zheng on Saturday.

It is a second straight title in Melbourne for Sabalenka, who did not drop a set in seven matches.

She defeated first-time Grand Slam finalist Zheng 6-3 6-2.

Sabalenka has now become the first tennis player since countrywoman Victoria Azarenka 11 years ago to claim back-to-back titles in Australia.

Zheng is the first Chinese player to make it to a Grand Slam decider since Li Na won the title here a decade ago.

But she could not cope with Sabalenkaโ€™s ruthless power throughout the contest which lasted 76 minutes.
