The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwasoโ€™s boast that he would win the 2027 election has been laughed off by 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

The former Kano State governor said he stands as the better candidate to win the 2027 election. He added that the PDP is dead and cannot stand a chance of winning elections.

Speaking, on Saturday, at the inauguration of the NNPPโ€™s Secretariat, along IBB Way, in Katsina; Kwankwaso explained that he left the party because he saw the party had gone out of the line.

โ€œI wish to remind you that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already dead, because we were in the party, since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,โ€ he said.

The Kwankwasiyya leader urged Nigerians, particularly women and youths not to allow themselves to be โ€œdeceived with spaghetti or money during the next electionsโ€œ.

On his part, the NNPP state Chairman, Alhaji Armayaโ€™u Abdulkadir, said the party was doing everything possible to enlighten the electorate on the partyโ€™s new logo.

He said, โ€œThere is the need for the party to embark on grassroots sensitization to inform the members on the importance of the new logo.โ€

Reacting to Kwankwasoโ€™s statement, the Special Assistant on Media (Broadcast) to Atiku, Abdul Rasheeth, said it was funny that the former Minister Defence who got only 1.4 million votes in the last 2023 election, would make such a bold claim.

โ€œImagine you ran for President and received 1.4 million votes: 1 million from Kano and 400,000 from all over Nigeria. You believe you can win against Tinubu,โ€ Atikuโ€™s aide said on his X handle.
