English Premier League club, Arsenal, is reportedly considering offloading at least ten players before the end of the summer transfer window.
OsunDailyNG understands that the transfer window closes on September 1, 2023.
Arsenal is said to have at least 32 players in the first team currently. The club manager, Mikel Arteta, however, wants to shred down the number of players.
Recall that Granit Xhaka, Pablo Mari, Auston Trusty, and Matt Turner have already left Arsenal to join other clubs. Runar Alex Runarsson and Marquinhos have left on loan.
Reports revealed that Folarin Balogun is one of the seven players Arsenal is looking to offload. Monaco and Chelsea are interested in the 22-year-old striker.
Albert Sambi Lokonga is another player who could leave and has been linked with Brighton, although they are more interested in a loan, and the Gunners would prefer to sell.
Arsenal are looking to sell Kieran Tierney too, who had been strongly linked to Newcastle United before they brought in Lewis Hall from Chelsea.
The Gunners are also open to offers for Rob Holding, Nicolas Pepe, Cedric Soares and Nuno Tavares, OsunDailyNG learnt.
Meanwhile, Manchester City has finally extended the contract of Portuguese midfielder, Bernardo Silva, for one more season after a series of transfer speculations.
So far this summer, Bernardo Silva was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal, with two seasons left on his contract with the reigning Premier League champions.
Also, French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain, and Spanish La Liga champions, FC Barcelona made efforts to buy him from City this summer.
Hence, Bernardo Silvaโs contract extension from 2025 to 2026 is a sign that the 29-year-old Portuguese midfielder wonโt leave Manchester City this summer.
After extending his contract with Manchester City, Silva who helped the club to win the historic treble โ Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup โ last season, acknowledged his love for Cityโs manager, Pep Guardiola who is currently recovering from a back surgery.
โIโve had six incredible years at Manchester City and Iโm delighted to extend my time here.
โWinning the Treble last season was extremely special and itโs exciting to be part of a squad where there is such a hunger and passion.
โSuccess makes you want even more, and this club gives me that opportunity to keep on winning. I love the manager, my teammates, and the fans and hope we can share even more great memories in the coming years,โย the Portuguese midfielder said.
Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City from French Ligue 1 club, Monaco, on July 1, 2017, for a transfer fee worth โฌ50 million.
Since then, the Portugal international has scored 55 goals and provided 59 assists in 308 games in all competitions.
Silva has helped City to win five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and two Community Shields.
