President Bola Tinubu has commended the men of the Nigeria Armed Forces for their sacrifices to the nation.

President Tinubu said his government would continue to prioritize the welfare of the military for their services to the nation.

OsunDailyNG reports that Tinubu stated this at the 2025 Regimental Dinner Night as part of events marking the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Abuja, on Monday.

Represented by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; the President noted that Nigeriaโ€™s military remains a source of pride and inspiration to all citizens.

โ€œIt is with great honour and deep appreciation that I stand before you tonight as the Special Guest of Honour of this remarkable gathering, the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day dinner and Award Night for Officers.

โ€œThis gathering emphasizes, not only our shared dedication to security and unity of our great nation, but also countless sacrifices made by our men and women who have served as well.

โ€œThe Armed Forces of Nigeria is more than just a military establishment; they represent the cornerstone of national security, the embodiment of the collective result of hope, peace, and integrity of our dear nation.

โ€œThe dedication, and professionalism exhibited by our service men and women should be a source of pride and inspiration to all Nigerians. So, as we celebrate, let us also look into the future,โ€ he said.

President Tinubu while acknowledging the challenges faced by the military in the discharge of their services, assured his administration would increase military capacity by equipping them sufficiently.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ending insecurity across the country.

โ€œThe challenges we face not only demand courage and strength, but innovation and adaptability, but we must continue to invest in the capabilities of our military, equipping them with the resources and support necessary to effectively address the evolving security challenges that daily confront us.

โ€œThe road ahead will not always be easy but together we can overcome any challenge.

โ€œLet me assure you that we will continue to prioritize the welfare and well-being of our Armed Forces personnel.

โ€œEnsuring that they have the necessary resources and support to carry out their duties effectively,โ€ he stated.

The President further commended all servicemen awarded at the Dinner ceremony for their gallantry. He urged them to continue shining their light for the safety of the country.

โ€œTo the award recipients being honoured tonight, your exemplary service and commitment have not gone unnoticed.

โ€œYou are shining examples of what it means to serve this country selflessly with distinction.

โ€œYour work not only contributes to the safety of our nation but also serves as motivation for others in the armed forces and beyond.

โ€œYouโ€™re the lifeblood of our military, we celebrate you with great joy tonight,โ€ he added.
