Senate President Godswill Akpabio has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is very proud of Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State.
He also commended the governor for leading a peaceful administration of the state.
Akpabio, who spoke in Calabar, at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, said, “We are very proud of him (Otu).”
He said one of the reasons he is in the state is to identify with the many electoral and legal victories of the governor, with the latest being the Appeal Court’s re-affirmation of his election.
“I am also here because of my Senators. The three Senators from Cross River State are very supportive of my leadership in the Senate, especially my younger brother, Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, who would be thanking God for his child, family and victory at the polls.”
Akpabio assured citizens of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states that priority has been given in the nation’s 2024 budget to addressing the precarious road infrastructure in the two sister states, especially the very deplorable
Calabar-Uyo federal highway.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom State admitted that “the terrible state of the road affects both states”.
