Some of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, who won re-election in the just concluded 2023 governorship election, met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja on Wednesday, OsunDaily News reports.

The Governors are Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and his counterpart in Gombe, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.

The APC chieftains paid a courtesy visit to Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa yesterday and also presented him with their Certificate of Return while they took some photographs.

The two governors who recently visited Prof. Osinbajo expressed gratitude to the Vice President for his unwavering support for them and the party.

OsunDaily News recalls that Osinbajo voted in Ikenne, Ogun state, during the presidential and governorship elections.

It could also be recalled that the number two citizen in February inaugurated the APC Legal Compliance Committee for over 1400 state and national elections.

During the inauguration at the Presidential Villa, Osinbajo urged members of his party to be proactive, noting that he is confident they are up to the task.

Meanwhile, the ambition of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Wase, to take over from Femi Gbajabiamila in the 10th Assembly has received a boost.

OsunDaily News on Wednesday gathered that the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, joined the list of other governors supporting his ambition.

The likes of Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Nyesom Wike (Rivers State) and several others have thrown their weight behind Wase.

Governor Buni expressed his support for Wase when he visited him in Abuja with his team.

He said, โ€œWe in the APC and indeed the House of Representatives need you more than you need because there is no better time than now for us in the party to pay you back for your loyalty than now.

โ€œExperience is not studied in the university; it evolves from institutional participation and entrenched ideas which you already have. For us, we know you will work based on experience because you are prepared more than any other.

โ€œYou didnโ€™t need to come, I will work for you because to whom much is given, much is expected. You listened to us and stepped down when I was National Secretary even before the president, he knew about it and it is now time for us to reciprocate your gesture; someone must step down for you this time around.โ€
