All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy Chairman (South) Emma Eneukwu said the ruling party will be fielding credible candidates at the 2023 general polls.
In his Independence Day message, Eneukwu assured that the APC remained committed to entrenching the dividends of democracy and making things better for citizens.
“I solicit for more support for our party and its candidates ahead of the 2023 elections because APC has candidates with proven integrity and competence to deliver”, he noted.
The chieftain advised Nigerians to be united peacefully during and after the electioneering season.
The politician also cautioned against violence, hate speech, and campaigns of calumny to avoid overheating the polity.
Eneukwu wants the campaigns for 2023 to be issue-based and focus on ways to solve lingering challenges.
“We must eschew any act that has proclivity for violence and guard our dear country. We have gone far in all spheres of life to arrive at this point as the giant of Africa.”
Eneukwu said Nigeria has witnessed unprecedented development and challenges since 1960, but still progressing gradually, “especially in the last seven years”.
