Kogi State has recorded yet another tragic incident as nine people from the same family reportedly died under mysterious circumstances.

Naija News learnt that the sad development happened on Monday evening in Nagazi, a community in the Adavi Local Government area of the state.

The victims, according to reports, include five children of the same parents, and four others. It was gathered that five family members died first at the same spot before the other four children were rushed to the hospital after noticing the same symptoms.

Sources, however, confirmed to The PUNCH that the remaining four later died while receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital in the area.

It was yet unclear if the children had died of food poisoning but speculations are that their death is food related.ย A family source who craved anonymity told reporters that the father of the deceased victims has been arrested while the mother was still receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Naija News understands that the latest incident is coming days after four family members died after eating โ€˜amalaโ€™ in the Mopa, Mopa-Amuro local government area of the state.

The state police command, however, is yet to issue any statement on the recent development.
