The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed one Sani Mohammed Tirwun, a Secretarial Assistant II of the Bauchi State Hospitals Management Board over serious misconduct.

The commission accused Sani of falsification of records, issuance of fake appointment letters, and illegal posting of staff.

Other offenses he was accused of include faking the Board Staff Officerโ€™s signature and alteration of posting letters.

DAILY POST recalls that the commission, on August 15th, 2023, dismissed two other staff of the Ministry of Finance for financial misappropriation and forgery.

This came barely two weeks after the Commission sacked one Ibrahim Garba attached to the State Pension Board for a similar offense.

The latest dismissal is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Information Officer of the commission, Saleh Umar.

The Commission considered the officerโ€™s dismissal during its 22nd plenary session held at the Conference Hall of the Commission on 5th October 2023.

He was alleged to have collected over N1 million to issue fake appointment letters.

He also allegedly collected N250,000, N200,000, and N150,000 respectively to insert the defrauded persons among approved postings.

According to the statement, the dismissed officer was found guilty of the offenses he was accused of committing.

It reads โ€œThese contradict Chapter (4) Section 4 Rule 108, item xvii, xiv, xv of Bauchi State Public Service Regulation 2017 (reviewed version) that dealt with aforementioned offenses as serious misconduct and liable to dismissal.

โ€œBesides all these, the officer was also alleged to have collected over one million Naira (1,000,000) for issuance of fake appointment letters as well as collecting the sum of N250,000, N200,000 and N150,000 respectively for inserting the victims among the approved posting.

โ€œThe officer in answer to a query letter issued to him by the Hospitals Management Board confessed to the crime. Therefore the officerโ€™s dismissal was approved with effect from 1st October, 2023.โ€
