A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has informed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and former Rivers senator, Magnus Abe, that Chibuike Amaechi has not resigned from the party.
Eze accused Abe and Wike of being the masterminds of the trouble that almost ruined the state chapter of the APC.
He noted that it appears that both men are in a contest over who would drive the Rivers APC without recourse to those who held the party together when the going was tough.
According to him, Amaechi is the leader of the APC in Rivers State.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Eze said, “Amaechi has not resigned his membership of the party to create room for new leadership structure.”
Wike, although still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reportedly been handed the structure of the APC in Rivers State.
Abe recently returned to the APC, having contested the 2023 governorship poll on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
