The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the 36th Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)
Recall that Tinubu emerged on Sunday as ECOWAS Chairman in a unanimous endorsement at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.
In a statement on Monday, Akume expressed confidence that the emergence of President Tinubu as the Chairman of ECOWAS would usher in refreshing season of democratic stability in the sub-region.
He added that his assumption as the leader of the West African sub-region would lead to cooperation among member states in order to realise the dreams and aspirations of its founding fathers.
The former Governor of Benue State wished the President a successful tenure as ECOWAS Chairman.
Tinubu Returns To Abuja After Attending ECOWAS Summit
President Tinubu returned to Abuja after attending the ECOWAS Summit in Guinea Bissau.
The Nigerian leader, who left the county on Saturday, July 8, arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 6:30 pm aboard the NAF 001 Boeing 737 jet.
He was received by Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, former Kebbi governor Atiku Bagudu, former Jigawa governor Abubakar Badaru and former Kano governor Abdullahi Ganduje, among others.
