Assistant inspector general of police (AIG) Ahmad Abdurrahman has assumed duty as the new AIG in charge of Zone 14 comprising Kaduna and Katsina.
Zonal police spokesman, ASP Shehu Suleman, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday.
Mr Abdurrahman expressed his โreadiness to effectively supervise the two commands under him to achieve the goals of result-oriented policing.โย
The AIG stated that he would continue strengthening the existing synergy between the police, sister security agencies and other critical stakeholders to combat crimes in the zone successfully.
Mr Abdurrahman, the fourth to occupy the position, reaffirmed his readiness to apply more strategies to checkmate the unscrupulous elements disrupting peace and harmony in the zone.
He appealed to the people to report any suspicious acts capable of threatening the areaโs peace to the police and other security agencies for prompt action, pointing out that โtimely and authentic information always yields fruitful results.โ
Before his current posting, Mr Abdurrahman had served in various capacities, including being the police commissioner in Ekiti, Bayelsa, Kaduna and Enugu.
