Members of the Selection Committee of The Africa Road Builders – Trophy Babacar NDIAYE have met in the United Arab Emirates to decide the winners for 2024.
This year, the central theme of the deliberations was: “Quality of Road Infrastructure of Africa”.
According to a statement signed by Mr. George Orido, spokesperson of the Selection Committee, he said the group “meticulously assessed the quality of road infrastructure across the continent, drawing on the 2024 report from the Media Network for Infrastructure and Finance in Africa (MIFA), as well as the public reports from international institutions and organisations regarding roads and transport in Africa.”
“After deliberations, the Committee decided to reward two distinguished winners for the Super Prize Great Builder – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2024.
“His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and His Excellency Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo are thus designated Laureates of the Super Prize Great Builder -Trophée Babacar NDIAYE 2024, for their personal leadership.
“His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for his exceptional leadership, his commitment to sustainable development and his remarkable achievements in the field of road infrastructure in his country.
“His Excellency Denis Sassou-Nguesso, in recognition of his commitment to the development of road infrastructure and his unwavering determination to stimulate the economic development of Congo.
“The Selection Committee congratulates His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and His Excellency Denis Sassou-Nguesso for their remarkable achievements in road infrastructure and invites them to receive their trophies on May 30, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, during the Final Conference which will be held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank, AfDB,” Orido said.
The Selection Committee equally announced the winners of the 2024 Builders Trophies to include: SAFER, Togo, AGEROUTE, Côte d’Ivoire, Porteo BTP, Côte d’Ivoire and Rubis Asphalt
Orido said all the winners are also invited to receive their trophies at the Final Conference on May 30 in Nairobi.
