Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has reacted to his penalty shootout miss against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

OsunDailyNG reports that Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-2 via penalty shootout on Wednesday night to qualify for the AFCON finals.

The semi-final match had ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

Aina missed his spot-kick during the shootout as the Nottingham Forest player kicked the ball over the bar.

However, Stanley Nwabali made two saves to ensure Jose Peseiroโ€™s men qualified for the final.

The likes of Terem Moffi, Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong and kelechi iIheanacho all scored their penalties.

Reacting, the former Chelsea player, in a video posted on social media after the game said, โ€œthese boys saved me. I donโ€™t care.โ€

The Super Eagles will now face Ivory Coast in the AFCON final on Sunday.
