Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has sustained an injury few weeks to the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ndidi missed the Foxes Sky Bet Championship 4-1 home win against Huddersfield Town at the King Power Stadium on Monday (today).

Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca confirmed after the game that the Nigerian has picked up injury.

โ€œEnzo Maresca tells me that Wilfred Ndidi has picked up an injury, thatโ€™s why he was absent today,โ€ Leicester Cityโ€™s BBC correspondent, Owynn Palmer-Atkin wrote on his X account.

โ€œBoth Ndidi and Iheanacho are set to join up with Nigeria tomorrow , Enzo stressed that neither are currently fit enough to play.โ€

Iheanacho has missed the Foxes last two Championship games due to a muscular problem.

The Super Eagles will begin preparations for AFCON 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
