Osun State Government has insisted that Governor Ademola Adeleke duly informed the citizens of the state of his working vacation to Europe and Asia.

It maintained that the vacation was the first time Governor Adeleke would take a break since assuming office as governor.

The governmentโ€™s position is coming after reports purportedly emanating from the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke on New Media being circulated on some Whatsapp and social media platforms about a statewide broadcast by Governor Adeleke slated for tomorrow Monday, November 27, 2023.

In a statement signed by Olalekan Badmus, Special Assistant (New Media) to Governor Adeleke and obtained by DAILY POST on Monday, he described the information making the rounds as fake and the handiwork of mischief makers.

Badmus denied issuing the statement and urged the general public to treat the information as false.

Badmus also revealed that the governor had directed the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi to brief the media on the one year landmark achievements of the administration on Monday, November 27 (today).

The statement reads, โ€œGovernor Adeleke had duly notified Osun people of his working vacation to Europe and Asia, the first time he would take a break since assuming the governorship seat.

โ€œHe has also directed the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi to brief the media on the one year landmark achievements of the administration this Monday 27th of November.

โ€œThe Governor had also stopped any celebration of the one year in office to conserve state resources and to keep in line with the challenging times currently facing the citizenry.โ€

DAILY POST had reported that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State in a statement on Sunday had accused Governor Adeleke of lying about his whereabouts.

In a statement by Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC chairman, the party claimed that Governor Adeleke had been holidaying in the United States of America in the last two weeks.
