The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke named Tunji Adeleke, son of the late state governor, Isiaka Adeleke, and Rasaq Salinsile, former chairman of the defunct Rauf Aregbesolaโs faction of the All Progressives Congress, as board chairmen on Thursday.
Adeleke Jr. has been appointed as chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, while Salinsile will serve as chairman of the Teaching Service Commission.
Governor Adelekeโs spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, also announced several other appointments.
Former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Wale Oladipo, is to chair the Osun State University Governing Council.
Meanwhile, ex-PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, will lead the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.
Among other state statutory board chairmen are Mr. Gbenga Onigbogi for the University of Ilesa and Mr. Diran Ayanbeku for Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. Additionally, Mr. Peter Babalola will lead the Osun State College of Education, Ila, and Senator Kola Ogunwale the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.
Others appointed include Dr Kingsley Akinroye for the State Hospital Management Board, Mr. Ibukun Fadipe for the State Universal Basic Education Board, and Mr. Muyiwa Oloso for Osun State Broadcasting Corporation.
Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji will chair the Osun Health Insurance Agency, and Mr. Niyi Owolade will lead the Osun State University Teaching Hospital.
Rasheedโs statement concluded: โGovernor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the appointment of chairmen and vice chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state. The appointments take immediate effect.โ
This comes just a day after the governor swore in 25 commissioners and three permanent secretaries.
