A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has defended the gaffe made by the partyโs Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently.
OsunDaily News recalls that Tinubu, after delivering his speech on Tuesday at the flag off of his presidential campaign in Jos, the Plateau State capital, mistakenly prayedย for the opposition party.
The former Governor of Lagos State who suddenly realized he was mentioning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) instead of his party, quickly corrected himself and mentioned the APC twice.
In a tweet accompanied by a video on his Twitter page on Wednesday, Garba argued that Tinubuโs mistake of referring to APC as PDAPC was a strategic approach.
The former presidential aspirant stated that Tinubu had been preparing for the presidential office for almost 30 years, hence, the reason for the slip-up.
He, however, condemned the public criticism of the gaffe as irresponsible, stating that half of the PDP members are working for the success of the APC candidate.
โGod bless PDAPC was a parabolic communication to those in the PDP that are tirelessly working for the success of APC. Tinubu is a genius!โ he wrote.

2023: Melaye Mocks Tinubu Over Gaffe In Jos APC Campaign Rally
The Chief Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dino Melaye, has mocked Tinubu over his gaffe at the launch of the partyโs campaign rally in Jos.
In a statement on Thursday, Melaye said the gaffe made by the former Governor of Lagos State was an early warning signal that he isnโt fit to become the President in 2023.
Melayeย said Tinubuโs low performance, conduct, and carriage at the Jos rally demonstrated another pattern of unfitness for the office he seeks to occupy.
He added that the age, wealth, academic credentials, and records of Tinubuโs career are shrouded in secrecy, saying that such a person is not qualified to become the President.
