The Adamawa state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has today disclosed that it has constituted its 2023 Elections Campaign Council.
A statement signed by the Press Secretary to Adamawa State Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, disclosed that it was vital for the state to constitute the campaign list early enough so the campaign can commence for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who is a son of the state.
Wonosikou said the mandate of the campaign council is to aid in planning and managing the party’s campaign from the Presidency to the level of the state legislature.
According to him, the council is headed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, with Joel Madaki, as his vice.
The statement revealed that Barrister Awwal Mohammed Tukur is the Director-General for the campaign, while a former Minister of State for Health, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong is the secretary.
While stating that the inauguration of the campaign council is slated for Monday, October 17, he said “the long list of the PDP campaign team for 2023 was released Friday only a couple of hours after a federal high court sitting in the state capital annulled the governorship primary of main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared that the party has no validly elected candidate for the 2023 governorship election.”
